I recently received the following in an email, and thought that it deserved an honest answer.

"Dear Sir,

Is Cliffport real? How can I get there? I've been thinking of moving to the West Coast for a while now, and think it would be a lovely place to live.

V."

The directions to Cliffport are quite simple. From Portland, Oregon, take US 26 west to Highway 101. Turn north. Turn west on County Road 7. Shortly after this, the road will seem to disappear up a couple steep hills. Follow the road, and you'll break through to a small valley that slopes to the west, where you will see a break in the rugged cliffs that leads to the sea. About a half mile further, you'll see a sign that says, 'Welcome to Cliffport, Even if you don't stay, your memories will.'

However, there is a quicker way to get to Cliffport:

Step out your front door, and walk down the block. Wave to your neighbors and give everybody a smile. Get involved in your community, and give someone a bit of your time. Stop carrying your troubles with you. Share your joys and laughter.

Because there is a Cliffport in every town, city, village, or metropolis in the world. There are people who give of themselves, without needing to be asked. There are people who are living their lives without fear or anger and who are lending a hand to those around them. They are making their towns and their neighborhoods safer and better places to live.

You see, Virginia, yes, there is a Cliffport.

And don't call me Sir.
